Books hold mysteries inside and a good cover helps us to extrapolate meaning.
These covers started with themed ideas. I designed the elements to support the concepts with aesthetic support elements.
Let’s start with with your light speed! You are taken away into space… angular lines symbolizing direction, with uses of light and dark. Day/Night/Time/Space/Continuum…
Covers give us clues about the subject matter.
Here’s a non-fiction biography cover about a woman who is on a spiritual journey and pursuing music in the 30’s. It was fun to play with dreamy cover elements combined with a historic image of the heroine.
And a story about being lost in the woods and chasing the metaphor of what we think we want to only find the faith we truly need.
Covers can help us reach deeper meanings. Sometimes shapes and environment as in this design speak for the subject matter. This holds true no matter what medium you create for.
